Herman Metzger Dies Of Injuries
Herman R. Metzger, 53, Soo Line agent here for many years, passed away at 5:30
p. m. Monday at the Medford Hospital of injuries received in a traffic accident
south of Medford on Highway 13 late Sunday night.
Death was reported to have been caused by internal injuries and a compound skull
fracture.
He was born in Wisconsin Rapids April 28, 1894 and married the former Blanche
Reas, of Spencer. He was a member of the Masons, the Lions, and Modern Woodmen
of American and a Village Trustee.
Surviving besides his wife are one son, William, of the village and a daughter,
Mrs. George (Theone) Rieler, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. John Peters, Wisconsin
Rapids and two grandchildren.
The body is at the Swarthout Funeral home and final funeral arrangements have
not as yet been made. It is thought that services will be held either Friday or
Saturday afternoon but possibly not until Monday. This is uncertain as they hope
Mrs. Metzger will be able to attend the funeral of her husband.
