Zuzelski, Regina “Virginia” (17 March 1924 - 7 February 2013)
Regina “Virginia” Zuzelski, age 88, of Stanley, WI, formerly of Thorp, died on
Thursday, February 7, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral
services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at St.
Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, in Thorp. Rev. Don Meuret officiated and
burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at
the church, on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Regina Zuzelski was born on March 17, 1924, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of
Joseph and Martha (Mamayek) Zuzelski. When she was a young girl, her family
moved to a farm near Thorp, where she was raised and received her education at
Blueberry School. Virginia spent most of her life living at the Clark County
Health Care Center, in Owen, and in group homes. For about the last 20 years,
she has been living at Giwojna Adult Family Home, in Stanley.
She was a former member of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. Virginia had many
interests, including: shopping, especially at the Dollar Store; going out to
eat, she loved her hamburger, slice of pie and soda; and going to the library.
She is survived by: one sister, Stella (Raymond) Mecha of West Allis; four
nieces: Denise Mecha, Joan (Darrel) Pagel, Kathy Kerr, and Ruth Jutrzonka; one
nephew, Lawrence Zuzelski; other relatives and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Leonard, Andy,
and Jerry Zuzelski.
