Mae Irene Boie, 89, of Stanley, passed away with family at her side, on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Country Terrace Assisted Living Center in Stanley, under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was born on April 28, 1923, in Thorp, to the late Frank and Dorothea (Kuntz) Graham. Mae grew up in the area and graduated from Thorp High in 1945. On June 16, 1945, she married Norval Boie at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Stanley. The couple farmed in the Town of Worden for many years.

Mae lived an active life with Christ. She volunteered at Victory Memorial Hospital for many years as a “Grey Lady,” and was a long-time member of the Worden Social Circle. She also was an active member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and later at TCF. Mae was a fervent reader of scripture and found much joy in Bible Study groups throughout her life. Mae was always family-oriented, a terrific baker (known for her cinnamon rolls), sold Avon products and was a talented artist, crafter, reader and writer.

Mae is survived by her husband of 67 years, Norval of Thorp; five children: Connie McKay of Victoria, TX, Chuck (Yvonne) Boie of maple Grove, MN, Dale (Marcie) Boie of Thorp, Janice Raimer of Appleton and Duane (Faith) Boie of Medford; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Ron) Witt of Chippewa Falls.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Perry, Walter and Wally Graham; sisters: Esther Dallas, Maizie Ponick and Margie Graham; two grandchildren: Kim McKay and Brandon Schleicher; and two sons-in-law: Don McKay and Jerry Raimer.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Trinity Christian Fellowship, rural Stanley. Rev. Jim Capets will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Inurnment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery at Stanley at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Chippewa Falls, WI.
