Larson, Josephine Mary (14 May 1912 - 16 February 2013)
Josephine Larson, 100, of Neillsville died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the
Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Josephine Mary Larson was born May 14, 1912, in Almena, the daughter of Henry
and Minnie (Leifel) Katreim. She attended Catholic School in Almena and one year
of business school. Josephine then worked at home until she was 21. She was
united in marriage to Alf Larson July 25, 1933, at the Catholic Church in
Almena. They moved to Prairie Farm and later to Dallas and then to Greenwood,
where they raised their family. They lived in Greenwood for 21 years, and
Josephine worked as a clerk at the Farmer’s Store in Neillsville, beginning in
1943. Eventually, they moved to Neillsville, and she continued to work for the
Farmer’s Store.
Josephine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, belonging
to the St. Jude Circle. And she was a faithful member of the TOPS organization.
She is survived by three children, Richard (Corrine) Larson of Greenwood, Sharon
Brzezinski of Muskego and Donald (Chris) Larson of Hustisford; 14 grandchildren,
22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alf Larson; a grandson, Michael
Larson; and a son-in-law, Lenny Brzezinski.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb.
23, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be
Rev. Varkey V. Joseph. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and
St. Mary’s choir. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb.
23, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Greenwood
Cemetery in Greenwood at a later date.
