USH 10 Vehicle Crash (Victims Identified - 2013)
Victims who were sent to area hospitals for treatment of injuries suffered in a
three-vehicle crash that occurred Feb. 10, 2013, on USH 10 approximately one
mile west of Hickman Road have been identified.
Pao Chang, 27, Appleton, was the driver of a 2007 Honda Accord traveling
eastbound when it went out of control. He was hospitalized along with passengers
Bao Yang, 17, Hudson; Pakou Xiong, 18, Wausau; Soua Khang, 16, Wisconsin Rapids;
and Nannie Graef, 20, Milee Vang, 20, and Chia Thao, 16, all of Sheboygan.
Kathleen S. Friebel, 50, Kaukauna, was heading westbound in a 2004 Chrysler when
her car was sideswiped. She was also transported to an area hospital.
Paul Vue, 44, Andover, MN, was the driver of a 2006 Toyota Tundra truck heading
westbound. His vehicle was met nearly head-on by the eastbound vehicle.
He and his passengers Geu Vu, 56, Brooklyn Center, MN; Mayline Vue, 33, Andover,
MN; and Ge Vu, 47, and Kao Vu, 57, both of Bethel, MN, were also hospitalized.
The victims were transported to Mayo Health Systems-Oakridge Hospital in Osseo,
Black River Memorial Hospital and Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
The initial investigation indicates the eastbound vehicle lost control in the
slushy road conditions, first side-swiping one westbound vehicle and then
striking a second westbound vehicle nearly head-on.
Three of the victims required extrication from the vehicles.
