Skrzypek, John (4 JUL 1898 - 20 JAN 1964)
John Skrzypek, 65, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 1964 at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield.
Mr. Skrzypek was born July 4, 1898 in Buffalo, N.Y. He left New York with his
parents as a small boy and coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) they resided on a
farm in the Town of Withee. At the age of 18 he was inducted into the armed
forces and served in World War I. Upon his discharge he returned home and
purchased a farm nearby where he resided until his death. On Feb. 13, 1934 he
was united in marriage to Helen Slupski at St. Hedwig's Church. Funeral services
were held Thursday, Jan. 23 at St. Hedwig's Chapel. Father Mish officiated at
the ten a.m. service and burial was in St. Hedwig's Old Cemetery. Pallbearers
were: John Dulek, John Godden, Frank Hoffman, Adam Wiater. Leon Marek and Walter
Marek.
Surviving are his wife Helen, two sons, Raymond of Racine, Edward at home; one
daughter, (Grace) Mrs. Edward Godden, East St. Louis, Ill.; one brother Mike
Skrzypek of Withee; two sisters, Sister Mary Modesta and Miss Edna Skrzypek,
both of St. Louis, Mo., and one grandchild. Two brothers, Stanley and Frank,
preceded him in death.
