Schroeder, Ed P. (25 AUG 1894 - 3 FEB 1964)

Ed P. Schroeder, 69, a former Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, died of a heart attack at Marshfield, Monday, Feb. 3, 1964, where he has made his home for many years.

Mr. Schroeder retired as railroad engineer on the Sool Line Dec. 16, 1961, marking his last run on the passenger train "Laker" between Owen and Superior.

He was born Aug. 25, 1894 at Curtiss, came to Thorp with his parents while still a boy. At the age of 19 he became a Soo Line railroad locomotive fireman, operating out of Stevens Point, and was promoted to Engineer in 1921, after serving in World War I.

He is survived by his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Reinwand, Wis. Rapids, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Hansen Funeral Chapel at Marshfield, Feb. 5th, Rev. Wesley Dafoe officiating, and interment followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
