Wry, Amanda (1882? - 8 FEB 1964)
Mrs. Amanda Wry, 81, a resident of Stanley since 1955, died Saturday. Funeral
service were held Tuesday at the Stanley Methodist Church, the Rev. Roy F. Scott
officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery.
The former Amanda Gereau was born in the Town of Seymour, Eau Claire Co., and
was married to Alma Wry in 1904. The couple farmed in the Stanley and Thorp area
for many years.
She is survived by four sons, Arthur, Stanley, Cecil, Gilman, Donald, Lyons,
N.Y., and Ray, Milwaukee; a step-son, Earl, Stillwater, Minn.; five daughters,
Mrs. John Foster, Stanley, Mrs. Lillian Storey, Hannibal, Mrs. Walter Klak,
Cudahy, and Mrs. Ernest Raether, Milwaukee; a step-daughter, Mrs. Emmett Flora,
West Allis; a brother, Joseph Dupont, Eau Claire; a sister, Mrs. Frank Roycraft,
Chippewa Falls; 47 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren
