Dill, Norbert Leo (28 October 1918 - 2 June 1968)

Norbert Leo Dill, 48, of Wauwatosa, former Greenwood resident, died June 2 in Milwaukee. Mr. Dill was born October 28, 1918 in Greenwood to Julius and Lydia (Kuester) Dill. He was employed in Greenwood until he enlisted in the navy in 1942. After his discharge he worked in Greenwood for several years and then went to Milwaukee, where he operated a filling station. He was presently employed at a garage in Milwaukee.

Survivors are his wife, the former Susie Gabor, two daughters, Linda and Vicky, and a son, Randall, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Lydia Dill of Greenwood; four sisters, Mrs. Phillip (Alberta) Thomas, Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Adolph (Anita) Abel of Greenwood, Mrs. Louis (Beulah) Matkovich of Willard, and Mrs. Harold (Julia) Mitte of Neillsville; and four brothers, Gottlieb and Henry of Milwaukee, Gilbert of Cedarburg, and Harvey of Chicago.

Funeral services were held from the Zion United Church in Greenwood, the Rev. David Logue officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the Wallis-Hinker Legion post with Gordon Christopherson in charge of the firing squad, Mike Podobnik, Valentine Yurkovich, Edward Gregorich, Wayne Herdrick, Cecil Lombard, George Grabara, Richard Larson, Laverne Brown, Edward Bogdonovich and Donald Lindner. The flag was folded and presented by Richard Larson and Kenneth Rodgers. The bugler was Susan Speich. Pallbearers were Robert Vesel, Thomas Elmer, Cletus Susa, John F. Trunkel, Douglas Luther and LeRoy Fravert.

Mrs. Duane Olson and Mrs. Daniel Olson sang, “Ivory Palaces” and “Asleep in Jesus” accompanied by Mrs. Daniel Olson.
