Duffield, William (12 DEC 1892 - APR 1964)
Services for Wm. Duffield, age 71, a resident of route 2, Stanley, were held at
2:00 p.m. Friday at the Plombon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roy F. Scott
officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Wm. Duffield was born Dec. 12, 1892, the son of John and Mary Eleanor (Wages)
Duffield in Lucas Co., Iowa. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the
battle of Argonne and other European campaigns. After the war, he was employed
at various places doing farm work. He moved to the town of Taft in Feb. 1925,
living their until his brother John's death in 1954. He then lived at Rushford,
Minn. for two years. He returned to Stanley in 1956, and has made his home at
the Curtis Caulkins home ever since.
Surviving are one brother, Charles, of Rushford, Minn., five sisters, Mrs. Mary
Stansberry of Laconia, Iowa; Mrs. Hattie Breeden of Sand Point, Idaho; Mrs. John
(Cora) Kopperud of Rushford, Minn.; Mrs. Ed (Eleanor) Kaullen of Omaha, Neb.;
and Mrs. Glen (Lillie) Stevenson of Columbia, Iowa. He was preceded in death by
his parents and two brothers.
