----------Holmes, Carrie (8 NOV 1905)
Married at 10 o’clock Wednesday forenoon, Nov. 8th, at the home of the bride’s
father, Robert Holmes, Sr., Miss Carrie Holmes of Fairchild, to Mr. Thomas
Hales, of Elroy, Rev. F.J. Bryan officiating.
Only members of the two families were present. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Holmes and Wm.
McLyman, all of Elroy, being the only ones in attendance from out of town. An
early dinner was served and Mr. and Mrs. Hales left on the 12:21 train for
Cleveland, Ohio, for a brief visit. They will return to Elroy next week where a
home has been furnished for occupancy and will be at home to friends there soon.
The bride was the recipient of many beautiful and useful gifts.
The bride lived in Fairchild from infancy and has many warm friends whose good
wishes go with her to her new home and who congratulate the groom upon winning
her. Mr. Hales “Tom” to everyone in town, is a popular conductor on the Omaha
between Altoona and Elroy.
The Observer desires to be counted among those offering congratulations and
hopes that life holds much of happiness and prosperity for Mr. and Mrs. Hales.
