Hillert, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Golden - 6 June 1968)
June 6 marked the Golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillert of
Granton. Relatives and friends honored the couple in a reception at Zion
Lutheran Church, Granton, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Richard and Amelia (nee Trimberger) Hillert are natives of the Granton
community. They were married in 1918 and engaged in farming until their
retirement 12 years ago. Both have continued to serve their community in various
capacities in the interest of numerous school and church projects throughout the
years. They have two sons: Theodore, who served as a teacher of science and
vocational agriculture in the high school at Tomah, and Richard, Jr., who
teaches music in the Chicago area at Concordia College, River Forest, and at
Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
Among those participating in the celebration, including numerous out-of-town
relatives, were Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hillert and family, Mark, David, Susan and
Brian, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillert, Jr., and family, Kathryn, Virginia and
Jonathan. A dinner for close relatives preceded the reception.
