Voigt, Louis R. (September 5, 1985 - August 28, 2008)
Louis "Louie" R. Voigt, 22, Stetsonville, died Thursday, Aug. 28 at St. Joseph's Hospital emergency room in Marshfield, where he had been taken earlier by ambulance.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. Joel Danner officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Mat Rampart, Robert Wendt Jr., Mike Lamberty and Craig Pfaff.
Louis Voigt was born September 5, 1985 in Merrill to Richard and Peggy Voigt.
He attended Merrill elementary schools and was a 2004 graduate of Medford Area Senior High. After his education he worked as a farmhand at area farms and also at Heartland Co-op in Dorchester, for his family at Schult's Country Inn in Merrill and Equity Livestock in Stratford. At the time of his death he was working at Seubert Inc. of Dorchester.
He was a member of North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, animals, farming, sausage making and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his maternal parents, Peggy and Mark Brecke of Stetsonville; paternal father, Richard Voigt of Wausau; maternal grandparents, Donald and Darlene Keeser of Merrill; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Voigt of Wausau; maternal step-grandparents, Myron "Mike" and Sharon Brecke of Curtiss; a step-brother, Christopher Brecke of Stetsonville; a stepsister, Stephanie Brecke of Stetsonville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the family for a future designation.
