Lueck, Marvin W. (February 4, 1916 - February 27, 2010)

 

Marvin "Marv" W. Lueck, 94, Rib Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 27 at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at Rib Lake United Methodist Church, with Pastor Marvin Fingh officiating.

 

Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake, with full military honors conducted by the Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274.

 

Active pallbearers will be Neal Gebauer, Jason Homer, Jay Peterson, David Glenzer, Alyssa Bunkelman, Danielle Bunkelman and Damon Lueck. Honorary pallbearers are Kelli and Joshua Lueck.


Visitation will be held at the church Thursday, March 4 from 4 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


Marvin Lueck was born February 4, 1916 in Neillsville to the late Charles and Alphena (Ott) Lueck.

 

He attended Neillsville schools. He farmed from 1933 until he was inducted into the United States Army Air Force during World War II, serving from July 18, 1942 until November 19, 1943.


On February 26, 1944 in Medford, he married Irene Glenzer, who survives. He was employed at various jobs in the Taylor County area.


He was a member of Rib Lake United Methodist Church and Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274. He enjoyed gardening, especially potatoes, fishing, hunting, traveling, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Kim (Roger) Gebauer, Robert (Chyrel) and Carl (Kristin), all of Rib Lake, and Carol (Jim) Bunkelman of Athens; two sisters, Elaine (Howard) Huep of Appleton and Rosemarie (LaRay) Norlin of Tomahawk; eight grandchildren, Amy (Jay) Peterson and Neal (Amy) Gebauer, both of Tomahawk, Jason Homer and Danielle and Alyssa Bunkelman, all of Athens, and Damon, Kelli and Joshua Lueck, all of Rib Lake; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter; a sister, Ruby Brandenburg; five brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for future designation.

 

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
