Regner, Josephine Joan (May 22, 1920 - December 22, 2009)

 

Josephine Joan Regner, 89, Prentice, died Tuesday, Dec. 22 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prentice, with Father Gerald Hagen officiating. Interment was at St. Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.

 

The former Josephine Pesko was born May 22, 1920 in Phillips to the late Michael and Maria (Gavornick) Pesko. She attended the Little Chicago School. On December 30, 1939 in Phillips, she married Franklin Regner, who survives.

 

They owned and operated the Regner Poultry Farm in Prentice until their retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, crossword puzzles, interior decorating and flower and vegetable gardening.

 

In addition to her husband, survivors include five children, Edward (Susan) of Danbury, Conn., James (Ellen) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Judith (Artie) Raleigh and Sarah (Jerry) Larson, both of Prentice, and Patricia Wakkinen of Peoria, Ill.; a brother, John of Manchester, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

 

Heindl Funeral Home of Prentice assisted the family with arrangements.
