Persson, Rev. K. Alvar (March 28, 1915 - August 15, 2009)  

Rev. K. Alvar Persson, 94, Medford, died Saturday, Aug. 15 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford.  

Cremainal interment will take place at Gloria Dei Memorial Garden in Forestville, Conn., at a later date. 

He was born March 28, 1915 in Vesteros, Sweden. He was ordained as a Lutheran minister in 1945, and served at congregations in Vermont, New York, Rhode Island, Minnesota and Connecticut. 

Survivors include four children, Carolyn (Tony) Kleifgen and Diane Persson, both of Medford, Betsy Holmquist of Litchfield, Minn., and David (Janet) of Southampton, N.Y.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hester, in November 2008.
