Bormann, Roy E. (October 13, 1927 - June 18, 2009)  

 

Roy E. Bormann, 81, Alexandria, Ind., died Thursday, June 18 at St. Johns Health System in Anderson, Ind.  

 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, June 23 at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria, with Father Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will be at a later date. 

 

Roy Bormann was born October 13, 1927 in Medford to the late Edward and Clara (Tippellt) Bormann. 

 

On November 24, 1951, he married Bernice Lukewich, who survives. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and retired as a supervisor from Weather Shield. 

 

He was a member of the Church of St. Mary, Knights of Columbus Council 563 and Anderson and Alexander Bright Post 87 of the American Legion of Alexandria.

 

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Mark (Sherry Mann) of Warsaw, Ind.; a sister, Joyce Bartmann; a sister-in-law, Rosie Bormann; a granddaughter, Jamie L. Bormann; and nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jim; and five siblings.

 

The family requests memorials be made to the School of St. Mary in Alexandria or Holy Rosary School in Medford.
