DeWitt, James A. (October 23, 1983 - October 5, 2008)
James A. DeWitt, 24, Withee, died Sunday, Oct. 5 in Barron County, following an automobile accident.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. David Clements officiating. Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in the Town of Maplehurst Cemetery.
James DeWitt was born October 23, 1983 in Eau Claire. He attended Medford area schools and graduated from Medford Area Senior High in 2002. He was a shift supervisor at Hardee's in Eau Claire for four years and was employed by Music and Motion for one year in Eau Claire as a disc jockey at the time of his death, and was also currently working at the Brass Rail in Medford as a cook. He was a puppeteer at the puppet show during the Renaissance Fair in Chippewa Falls for the past three years and also designed costumes for the fair.
He was a member of Renaissance Modern Medievalism Guild in Chippewa Falls. He enjoyed designing and marketing jewelry, gaming and computers, watching movies, music, reading books and really enjoyed being around children.
Survivors include his father, Douglas A. DeWitt of Texas; his mother, Connie L. (significant other, John Hansen) Hedrington of Rib Lake; maternal grandmother, Louise Parnewicz of Withee; paternal grandfather, George "Burge" DeWitt of Minnesota; a brother, Lance Corporal Max (fiancée Shawna Kuss of Medford) Hedrington USMC, stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; two sisters, Shanna Hedrington of Medford and Amanda (significant other, David Willsey) Hedrington of Eau Claire; aunts and uncles; and other relatives and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Marion DeWitt; maternal grandfather, Bruno Parnewicz; stepfather, Marty Hedrington; and uncle, Kevin Parnewicz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family to be designated at a later date.
