Bormann, Elaine M. (January 28, 1920 - September 26, 2008)
Elaine M. Bormann, 88, Medford, died Friday, Sept. 26 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford, where she had resided the past year.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Pastor Peter Warmanen officiating. Interment was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were Tyler Bormann, Luke Petersen, Rod and Steven Premeau, Tom Fronk and Marty Cipar.
The former Elaine Krueger was born January 28, 1920 in Detroit, Mich., to the late Arthur and Olga (Kissman) Krueger. She attended Medford area elementary schools and was a graduate of Medford High School.
On June 17, 1946 in Iowa she married Melvin "Mac" W. Bormann, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1980. She worked most of her life as a homemaker and mother, and also at Highway Cleaners in Medford and Hurd Millwork in Medford until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was a choir member for over 50 years, and a past member of Medford VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed growing plants, especially violets, and also embroidery work.
Survivors include a son, Danny of Medford; five daughters, Patsy (Lee) Paustenbach, Becky Petersen, Sue (John) Winter and Julie (Sam) Scott, all of Medford, and Mary Lynn (Michael) Premeau of Norwalk; two sisters, Elsie (Vic) Zirngible of Medford and Carol ("Hank") Spencer of Crandon; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joey Paustenbach in 1994; nine brothers and sisters, Lester, Dick, Bob, Don, Julia Krueger, Wanda Foss, Mary Bracker, and Leslie and Ardis Krueger in infancy; and a son-in-law, Jerry Petersen in 2001.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church building fund.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
