Stauber, Carl Henry (December 8, 1923 - May 21, 2009)
Carl Henry Stauber, 85, Lawrenceburg, Ky., formerly of Wisconsin, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at University of Kentucky Medical Center from injuries he received in an auto accident earlier this month in Lexington, Ky.
He is the husband of the late Callie Pearl Thomas Stauber.
He was born December 8, 1923 in Westboro to the late Charles and Louise (Bartels) Stauber. He was a retired skilled machinist for National Lock in Rockford, Ill., and served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, ShirLee (Jim) Alfors of Fort Mills, S.C. and Linda (Larry) Noga of Elfrida, Ariz.; a step-daughter, Shelby Scott of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Stephen Alfors of Las Vegas and Suzanne Alfors of Charleston, S.C.; and a brother, Fred (Edna) Stauber of Anchorage, Alaska. Special appreciation to Carl's extended family, Tracy and Leroy Norris, Wendy Anderson and Angie Stumph of Lawrenceburg; Randall and Bea Smith of Rockford and Clay and Jennifer Smith of Memphis, Tenn.
A time of celebration of Carl's life will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his residence. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Mount Olive Cemetery in Westboro.
Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, "Healing Fields," P.O. Box 114, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
