Rapala, Joseph, Reverend (1876? – 19 JAN 1953)

Father Joseph Rapala, 76, chaplain at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Rice Lake from 1946 to 1950, died at St. Camilla’s Hospital at Milwaukee Monday. He became ill while on a pilgrimage to Rome after leaving Rice Lake.

A pontifical requiem mass was held at St. Joseph’s Church in Rice Lake Thursday morning with the Most Rev. Albert Meyers of Superior officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Father Rapala was born in Austria and ordained in 1922. He headed a parish at Lublin, Wis.
