Poirier, William H. (12 July 1933 – 9 Oct. 2008)

MEDFORD -- William "Bill" H. Poirier, 75, of Medford, formerly of Stetsonville, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Medford.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Cremainal Inurnment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Hemer Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

He was born July 12, 1933, in Milwaukee to Gene Joseph Sr. and Agnes Mary (Kutchide) Poirier. He married Marcella "Marcie" C. Hartman on June 18, 1955, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was employed at Hurd for 17 years as a general laborer. In 1970 he began employment at Liberty Homes in Dorchester until Sept. 1977 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and ill health forced his retirement. From 1982 to 1987 he operated M&J Baits.

Surviving are his wife, Marcie C. Poirier, Medford; children, Jim (Becky) Poirier, Rib Lake, Jeannie (John) Deml, Medford, Jack (Donna) Poirier, Stetsonville, and Julie (Robert) Frombach, Medford; nine grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; and two sisters, Jeanette (Bernard) Strobach and Joyce (Lester) Noland, all of Medford.
