Westrich, Phillip F. (17 Feb. 1914 – 12 Oct. 2008)
MEDFORD -- Phillip "Phil" F. Westrich Jr., 94, of Medford, formerly of the Perkinstown area, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Medford.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Interment will be in Perkinstown Community Cemetery, Perkinstown.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary Service, today at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Phil was born Feb. 17, 1914, in Perkinstown to Phillip Sr. and Dora (Hirte) Westrich. He married Hazel E. Sigmund on March 4, 1935, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and she preceded him in death Nov. 25, 2007. He dairy farmed in the town of Grover for 20 years then worked for the Forest Service-USDA where he was a timber cruiser until his retirement in 1972.
He is survived by his daughters, Nona (Al) Dalke, Monett, Mo., Janet (Don) Hessefort, Medford, Inez (James "Eddie") Sykes, Stewart, Tenn., Patricia Wojdac, New Berlin, and Sandra (Joe) Salaja, Mukwonago; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
