A heart ailment proved fatal to Fred Carl Burgess, 69, who passed quietly away at the Medford hospital where he had been a patient for several days, on Friday, April 14th, 1950.
Funeral services were conducted from the Hartwig and Ruesch Funeral Home in Medford, Monday with the Rev. Kolath officiating. Burial was made in the Medford Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Harry Williams, Ignatz Nowak, Chas. Rahn, George Hamm and Oscar and Edmund Neibacher.
Fred Carl Burgess was born on Aug. 18, 1880 in Altoona, Eau Claire Co., Wis. He came to the Town of Holway as a youth with his parents, both of whom are deceased, when he was eight years of age. He has resided in the township ever since attaining his manhood and being engaged in farming and as a woodsman.
He was unmarried and is survived by his one brother, Otto, with whom he had made his home.
