Dahl, Helen J. (15 Aug. 1896 – 23 Mar. 1979)
MEDFORD – A former Medford area resident, Mrs. Helen J. Dahl, 82, of 2511 W. Skyline Parkway, Duluth, Minn., died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. Mrs. Dahl had been in ill health the past two years.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Hemer Funeral Home. The Rev. William Green, pastor of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, officiated. Burial was in Medford Catholic Cemetery.
The former Miss Helen J. Janda was born Aug. 15, 1896, in the town of Browning and attended Medford area schools. She was married to Jems Dahl in 1931 in Carlton, Minn. At age 18, she moved from the Medford area to Duluth. She was employed as a drapery seamstress most of her life and retired in 1974.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Eagles Club Auxiliary in Duluth.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Beth Stangle of Duluth, Minn.; and Mrs. Mary Strankman of Medford; and two brothers, Peter Janda of Medford and Emil Janda of Grand Rapids, Mich. She was predeceased by her husband, one brother and one sister.
