Stahl, Elvis Louis Paul (March 23, 1908 - July 7, 1985)

Medford - Louis Stahl, 77, of N4605 Stahl Road, Medford, town of Hamel, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Marty Gibbons will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Smith, Frank Berndt, Charles Spreen, Robert Molitor, Ed Hraby and George Brehm. Burial will be in Medford Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, where there will be an 8:30 p.m. prayer vigil.

Mr. Stahl was born March 23, 1908, in Luxemburg to Rudolph and Margaret (Schaetz) Stahl.

He came to Taylor County as an infant with his parents and settled on a farm in the town of Hamel. He attended Town of Hamel schools.

He married Erna Schneidereit April 11, 1953 in Medford. She survives.

Mr. Stahl farmed in the Town of Hamel his entire life, until ill health forced his semi-retirement a few years ago. He was active years ago with the School Board for the Town of Molitor. He was a former town chairman for the town of Hamel. He also served on the Taylor County Board for a period of time. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and former member of Consolidated Bader Co-op.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mike (Carol) Tuma, Medford and Mrs. Brian (Arlene) Carter, Vantage, Wash; and one brother, Maynard Stahl, Milwaukee.

He was predeceased by his parents and one sister.
