Schreiner, Florence Anna (Turba) (June 7, 1922 - May 22, 2010)
Florence Anna Schreiner, 87, Rib Lake, died Saturday, May 22, at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, May 26 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment was at St. Ann's Cemetery in the Town of Greenwood. Pallbearers were Shane Johnson, David Greene, Jimmy Schreiner, Mike Larson, Travis Schreiner, Ben Hemple, Brett Jones, Rod Hemple and Jonathon Slock.
The former Florence Turba was born June 7, 1922 in Medford to the late Frank and
Anna (Brost) Turba.
She moved with her family to Rib Lake and was a 1940 graduate of Rib Lake High School.
On June 9, 1943 in Rib Lake, she married Clarence Schreiner, who preceded her in
death in 1997. They farmed in the Town of Greenwood until retiring in 1988.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and Catholic Order of
Foresters, and former member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Catholic Church in Chelsea and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening and
spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (David) Silvey of Basset, Va., and
Joyce Voss of Englewood, Colo.; three sons, James Sr. and Jeffrey (Geralyn),
both of Rib Lake, and Gerald (Barbara) of Medford; a daughter-in-law, Nancy
Schreiner of Medford; a sister, Catherine (Lawrence) Radisewitz of Eau Claire; a
sister-in-law, Virginia Turba of Wisconsin Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 30
great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three
brothers, Lawrence, Florian and Raymond "Robi"; three sisters, Helen Turba,
Dorothy Turba and Julitta (Harvey) Bokath; a daughter, Joann Jones; and a
granddaughter, Jean Ann Viken.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be given to Good Shepherd
Catholic Church.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family
with arrangements.
