Kapitz, Arthur J. (11 May 1947 – 29 Oct. 2008)
MEDFORD -- Arthur "Jake" J. Kapitz Jr., 61, of the town of Hammel, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Medford.
Interment, with full military honors performed by the Medford Military Honors Team, will be in Medford Evergreen II Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Hemer Funeral Home of Medford is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born May 11, 1947, in Medford to Arthur Sr. and Clara (Cudo) Kapitz. After his education, he entered the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War until 1968. He then worked in Minneapolis for a while, then returned to Medford, working at Hurd Millwork in the maintenance department until ill health forced his retirement. He married Diana Johnson on March 17, 1978, in Medford.
Surviving are his wife, Diana Kapitz, Medford; children, Dale (Jean) Miller, Fox Lake, Ill., Timothy (Deanna) Miller, Mosinee, Mark (Colleen) Miller, Fond du Lac, Jonathan (Kari) Kapitz, Medford, and Tracey Kapitz, Hudson; and seven grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings, Carol (Don) Herman, Minneapolis, Mary (Jack) Imbach, Medford, and Jerry (Penny) Kapitz, Mukwonago.
