Pagel, John (4 Sept. 1882 – 6 Oct. 1970)

Mr. Pagel was born at Romeo, Mich., Sept. 4, 1882, and operated a farm in the town of Greenwood until his retirement in 1945, when he and his wife moved to the city of Medford.

He was married to Anna Liebenau Feb. 29, 1907, in the town of Medford and they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year with an open house at the Golden Age Nursing Home. They were former members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in the town of Greenwood and were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Gottlieb (Theresa) Peche, Greenwood; Mrs. Anton (Christine) Wudi, Rib Lake; Mrs. Lawrence (Esther) Schreiner, Rib Lake and Mrs. Lester (Estelle) Laub, Medford; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Les Laub, Don Schreiner, Bob Wudi, Wayne Wudi, Norman Blasel and Harvey Peche, all grandchildren.

The family requests that any memorials in his name be given to the new church fund of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
