Kloth, Richard "Dick" A. (November 21, 1957 - August 14, 2010)

Richard "Dick" A. Kloth, 52, Medford, died Saturday, Aug. 14 at his home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 18 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. James Babler officiating.

Burial was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II, with full military honors performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Pallbearers were Bruce Ross, Carl Ziehlke, Galen Raasch, Russ, Duane and Jerry Dassow, Mark Hrdina and Glen Steen.

Richard Kloth was born November 21, 1957 in Marshfield to Alvin M. and Rose "Rosie" M. (Tom) Kloth.

He attended Gad, Fairfield and Clearview elementary schools and was a graduate of Medford High School.

After high school he worked at Weather Shield in Medford as an assembler for about four to five years, then owned and operated his own truck through Dart Transportation out of Minneapolis, Minn., where he was a long haul truck driver until he joined the United States Navy in 1986. He was stationed on the largest aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Carl Vinson, and also served in the Gulf War being stationed at China Lake, Calif., as a part of the support group for the jet airplanes. He was honorably discharged on July 20, 1990, reenlisted on July 21, 1990, then was honorably discharged on June 30, 1994, reaching the rank of Aviation Fire Control Technician Petty Officer Second Class, and received medals including the Good Conduct Award on July 21, 1990. After the service, he worked as a truck driver for various companies in the area for a number of years, then started employment at Tombstone Pizza in Medford where he operated a forklift and most recently worked in the office on the loading dock until the time of his death.

He was a member of Klossner-Dietzler VFW Post No. 5729 of Medford, lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, Moonlight Snow-Kats Snowmobile Club where he served as past president, and the Stump-Jumpers Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed truck pulling with his brothers, water skiing, camping, hunting, antique card and the Packers.

Survivors include his parents; three siblings, Ann (Allen) McNamar, Mike (Linda) and Jim (Janine), all of Medford; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his family to be designated at a later date.
