Mueller, Richard W. Jr.

“Sons Of The Congregation Who Entered The Ministry”

Richard Mueller, Jr., son of the late Rev. Richard W. and Irene Mueller Sr. came to Medford with his parents in 1940, when his father accepted a call to Immanuel.

After completing his elementary education at Immanuel Christian Day School, he attended Northwestern College in Watertown, from which he graduated in 1951.

He then entered Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Meqon, Wisconsin and graduated in 1954.

He was ordained into the ministry at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Crivitz, Wisconsin on June 27, 1954.

He served there until January 1957, when he was commissioned to serve in the Wisconsin Synod’s Central African Mission Field.

He served in Zambia, Africa from 1957 through 1963, in Malawi, Africa from 1963 through 1965 and then returned to Zambia in 1965 and served again through 1972.

In 1972, he received a call to teach at Lakeside Lutheran High School, Lake Mills, Wisconsin, where he taught for two years.

At the end of 1974, he accepted a call to serve as pastor in the Lord and Savior Ev. Lutheran Church at Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Since may of 1975, he added St. Andrew Ev. Lutheran Church in Elgin, Illinois.

Pastor Richard and his wife Irene have been blessed with six children.
