Guth, Frances Marie (Sauer) (August 23, 1917 - October 1, 2010)
Frances Marie Guth, 93, Rice Lake, died Friday, Oct. 1 at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, with Father David Oberts officiating.
The former Frances Sauer was born August 23, 1917 in Medford to the late Michael and Catherine (Henrich) Sauer.
She graduated from Medford High School. She worked at Heimerl's Dime Store in Medford, then became a personal attendant for Mr. Ringling of Ringling Bros. Circus.
On June 4, 1946 in Medford, she married Alvin Guth, who survives. They resided
on a farm near Dorchester for 25 years before moving to Rice Lake in 1971. She
was also a cook at Doug's Drive In in Rice Lake and later worked at Wright
Products before retirement.
She was a member of the Christian Mother's Society.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Donna (Robert)
Adair of Englishtown, N.J., and Karen (William) Reddin of Fox Point; a son,
Lloyd (Sharon Gardner) of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Jeanette Miller, and a
brother, Joseph Sauer of Medford; and three grandchildren, Michael, Mackenzie
and Kristine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters,
Margaret, Delores and Regina, and four brothers, Leo, Felix, Alvin and Herbert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the charity of your choice.
Appleyard's Home for Funerals of Rice Lake assisted the family with
arrangements.
