Zuleger, Chester (April 21, 1936)

“Sons Of The Congregation Who Entered The Ministry”

Chester Zuleger, son of the late William and Tillie (Neuendorf) Zuleger was born in Medford April 21, 1936.

After attending public school for grades 1 and 2, he enrolled in Immanuel’s Christian Day School for grades 3 to 8.

After deciding to enter the Holy ministry, he attended high school at Dr. Marin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.

Upon graduating, he entered Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin for a period of four years and upon graduating, completed his ministerial training at the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary at Mequon.

His training also included one year of vicarage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson, Wisconsin.

Upon graduation from the Seminary in 1962, he was called as pastor to serve St. John’s and St. Matthew’s congregations, a dual congregation, near Spring Valley, Wisconsin.

On August 5, 1972, he was married to Miss Christina Strutt. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Matthew.

In 1973, he accepted a call to serve two mission congregations in Minnesota: Calvary Lutheran Church in Glenwood and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

In April 1976, he accepted a call to Trinity Lutheran congregation in Lake City, Minnesota.
