Baierl, Dorothy M. (3 May 1928 - 31 Oct. 2008)
WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- Dorothy M. Baierl, 80, of 422 Piltz Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Nekoosa, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. The Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Friends may call on Sunday at the Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday. A parish prayer service will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born May 3, 1928, in Marshfield to Frank and Marie (Weis) Hardinger. She married Clifford Baierl on Sept. 23, 1953, in Marshfield. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed by Schroeder's Variety Store in Nekoosa for 15 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Dorothy's interests included ceramics, painting and golfing. She and Clifford enjoyed wintering in South Padre Island, Texas. Above all, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford, Wisconsin Rapids; five children, Michael (Nancy) Baierl, Wisconsin Rapids, Richard (Wendy) Baierl, Wisconsin Rapids, Sandra (Barry) Brockdorff, Marysville, Mich., Connie (Barry) Chrystal Gerlach, Nekoosa, and Lori (Paul) Brown, Temecula, Calif.; two brothers, James (Carrie) Hardinger, and Jerry Hardinger, both of Marshfield; one sister, Arlene (Bob) Ledger of Janesville; 10 grandchildren, Kristen (Dennis) DeLor, Jason Brockdorff, Casey Chrystal, Nick, Chris and Gina Baierl, Brooke Baierl, Kathryn, Alex, and Cassandra Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Jakob and Mason DeLor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Hardinger; and one sister, Mary Ann Sternweis.
Memorials may be designated to Sacred Heart Parish of Nekoosa or Ministry Home Care Hospice.
