Pape, Gordon (December 17, 1944)
“Sons And Daughters Of The Congregation Who Entered The Teaching Ministry”
Gordon Pape, son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldemar A. Pape, was born in Reedsville, Wisconsin, on December 17, 1936.
In 1944, the Pape family came to Medford when Mr. Pape accepted the call of our congregation to re-open our Christian day School, which had been closed for nearly twenty years.
In preparation for his teaching career, Gordon attended Dr. Martin Luther High School and then Dr. Martin Luther College, competing his course in 1958.
Upon graduation, he accepted the call as teacher in Our Saviour’s Lutheran congregation in Wausau, which he served for two years.
In 1960, he accepted a call from Pilgrim’s Lutheran congregation in Minneapolis, where he served until 1968.
In 1968, he accepted the call as principal and teacher from St. Peter’s Lutheran congregation in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, a position he is presently serving.
