Engel, Rhoda (April 4, 1941)
“Sons And Daughters Of The Congregation Who Entered The Teaching Ministry”
Miss Rhoda Engel, daughter of the late Pastor A. J. Engel and Laura Engel, was born in Portage, Wisconsin, April 4, 1941.
The family moved to Medford in late 1948, when Pastor Engel was installed as Pastor at Immanuel’s on December 5, 1948.
After her confirmation and graduation from our Christian Day School, she entered Dr. Martin Luther High School, from which she graduated in 1959.
She then returned to Medford to attend Taylor County Teachers College for two years.
Upon graduation, she accepted a call to teach the fifth grade in New London, Wisconsin, where she served until 1963.
From 1964-65, she returned to Dr. Martin Luther College to complete another year of college.
One year of college training was achieved during summer sessions and she graduated from DMLC summer school in 1966.
From 1965-70, she taught in Mission, S.D.
From 1970-72, she taught at St. Mark’s Lutheran School in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
Since 1972, she has been teaching at Trinity Lutheran School in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
