Madison, Gordon J. (29 July 1929 - 22 Apr. 2003)

STETSONVILLE - Gordon J. Madison, 73, of Stetsonville was pronounced dead Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at his home in the town of Deer Creek.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. Military rites will be performed by the Stetsonville American Legion Club.

Cremainal internment will be at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Friday, both at the funeral home.

He was born July 29, 1929, in Hannibal to Nicholas and Kate (Hoeck) Madison. He married Darlene G. Blumenstein on Oct. 20, 1956, at St. Paul, Minn. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2003. He owned and operated the Deer Trail Inn in the town of Deer Creek. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughters, Pamela (Jeff Smith) Madison of Green Bay and Lisa (Paul) Wagner of Medford; two sons, Michael (Melissa) Madison of Medford and David (Karen) Madison of Anchorage, Alaska; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sister, Ruth Gloekner of Minocqua; and his brother, Alvin (Shirley) Madison of Fridley, Minn.
