Homer, Ernest F. (5 Apr. 1938 - 12 Jan. 2009)

Ernest "Ernie" F. Homer, 70, of Medford died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Goodrich. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in Medford Evergreen II Cemetery, Medford.

He was born April 5, 1938, at Peoria Heights, Ill., to James and Viola (Thomson) Homer. He attended Westboro High School. He worked for Hurd, Foremost Foods, Wisconsin Equipment and Weathershield.

He married Donna M. Strebe on July 11, 1959, at St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of the town of Goodrich; sons Richard, Keith (Audrey) and Mark (Gloria) Homer, all of Medford; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Art of Milwaukee, and a sister, Mary Elliott of Marshfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, 105 S. Gibson St., Medford WI 54451.

Hemer Funeral Home of Medford is assisting the family with arrangements.
