Florence Jarchow, 80, Neillsville, formerly of Medford and Marshfield, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.
Florence Margaret Jarchow was born May 23, 1928, in Medford, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Viergutz) Kestler. She attended Whittlesey School near Medford. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Oliver H. Jarchow in Medford. She spent the majority of her life raising their nine children, periodically working in a factory and a bakery. Oliver died in 1986. Florence lived in Marshfield for 10 years before moving to Neillsville.
She loved to crochet, tend to her flowers, garden and read.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Nancy) Jarchow of Aniwa, Clarice (Cliff) Oliver of Saukville, Kenneth (Dorothy) Jarchow of Wausaukee, Yvone (Gary) Frane of Willard, June (Victor) Roschtscha of Oak Creek, Debbie (Jeffrey) Miller of Neillsville, Steve (Lisa) Jarchow of Colby and Susan (Donald) Bunnell of Boyd. Florence is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a sister, Marion Peterson of Medford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver; her parents, Frank and Clara Kestler; a son, Larry O. Jarchow; a granddaughter, Ashley M. Bunnell; and a brother, Frank Kestler Jr.
A Memorial Visitation for Florence will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Florence’s family.
