Mother of Colby Man Dies at Stetsonville
Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Jakel of Stetsonville were held last Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Stetsonville, Rev. Arthur Weber officiating, and internment was made in the Stetsonville Catholic cemetery.
The former Josephine Marcott had been a resident of the Stetsonville area for 84 years, coming to the town of Little Black with her mother and brothers when she was five years old. She was born at Fond du Lac on April 8, 1869, and was married to Vincent Jakel at Medford on Sept. 23, 1890. Her husband preceded her in death. She moved to Stetsonville in 1926.
Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Henry (Hermina) Haberman of the town of Deer Creek, Mrs. Dave (Josephine) Peterson of Stetsonville, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Feala of Marshfield, Mrs. Paul (Elizabeth) Bach of Medford, Cecelia of Stetsonville, Louis of Colby, Mrs. Otto (Martha) Hackel of Abbotsford, Clara of Medford and Lawrence of Medford. Also surviving are 22 grand children and 41 great grand children.
