Marti, Ernest A. (23 Mar. 1912 - 23 Nov. 2008)

STETSONVILLE -- Ernest "Ernie" A. Marti, 96, of Stetsonville died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, in the Emergency Room of the Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ernie was born March 23, 1912, in the town of Frankfort to Emil and Alma (Leipert) Marti. He married Frieda Damm on Oct. 30, 1937, in Stetsonville. She preceded him in death Jan. 24, 2004. Ernie owned and operated Marti Dairy in Stetsonville for a number of years. Prior to his retirement, he drove a gravel truck for James Peterson and Sons.

He is survived by three sons, Kenton (Karen) Marti of Watertown, Allen Marti, Milwaukee, and Michael (Karen) Marti, LaValle; two daughters, Carol Walters, Philadelphia, Pa., and Julie Darrow, Watertown; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Damm, Medford, Betty (Pat) Shereda, Medford, and Marcia Rothamer, Phoenix.
