Moyer, Charles A. (24 Sept. 1947 - 13 Nov. 2008)
STEWARTSVILLE, Minn. -- Charles A. "Boysie" Moyer, 61, of Stewartsville, Minn., and formerly of Medford, died Thursday, Nov. 13 in Stewartsville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. Burial will be in Perkinstown Community Cemetery, Perkinstown with the Medford Area Military Honors Team performing full military honor. Rev. Peter Warmanen will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, at the Hemer Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Marshfield to Charles E. Moyer and Vivian J. (Greer) Moyer. He was married to Nancy A. Howard on July 26, 1969, and they later divorced. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1968-71 in Korea and Germany and again from 1976-1985 in numerous locations. He was also in the 82nd Airborne, and served as a cook for a four-star General. He worked as a cook for various businesses until ill health forced him to retire May 13, 2008.
He is survived by daughters Dawn (John) Keller of Stewartsville, Minn., Tammy Moyer and Melissa Moyer of Wausau, by his significant other Rafina Gauthier of Madison, and by 11 grandchildren. His son, Justin Moyer, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Moyer's family.
