Father of Colby Man Dies at Medford
Masonic rites were conducted Monday afternoon by Rev. Douglas K. Marks for Walter M. Hug of Medford age 65, father of Norman Hug of Colby. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Taylor county, Mr. Hug was a cofounder of the Beintker and Hug implement business, with his brother-in-law, the late William Beintker. He was born in Medford Dec. 30, 1891, and was married to Mary Beintker on June 11, 1916. He and his brother-in-law started their implement business at Stetsonville, and in 1920 moved to Medford. He served as a member of the Medford School Board for a number of years and was a member of the Masonic Chapter of Medford.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. George (Marilyn) Anderson of Eau Claire and Mrs. Vern (Dorothy) Krakenberger of Medford; two sons, Norval of Loyal and Norman of Colby; a brother, Erich Hug; 10 grand children.
