Mock, Burkhard (June 30, 1932 - December 28, 2010)

Burkhard Mock, 78, Medford, died Tuesday, Dec. 28. Memorial services will be held at a later date.


Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 8:30 AM Tuesday, December 28 at his residence in the township of Holway under the loving care of his family and Hope Hospice after a long illness.

TIME & PLACE OF FUNERAL: Memorial services will be held at a later date and his human remains were donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program.

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: June 30, 1932 at Buhler, Switzerland.

EDUCATION: Switzerland schools.

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: In 1953 at Switzerland to Ann Sinzig and they were later divorced.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: While in Switzerland he served in the Swiss Guard and worked as a dairy farmer. He emigrated to the Owen area in 1964 where he farmed until moving to a farm in the township of Holway in 1992. While farming he also worked at the Abbyland Pork Plant in Curtiss for a period of time.

MEMBER OF: Attended services at First Apostolic Church, township of Maplehurst.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 daughters; Erika Mock of Hawthorne, WI & Helen Mock of Portland, OR, 2 sons-Erwin (Audrey) Mock of Springfield, IL & Ben Mock of the township of Holway.

CHILDREN DECEASED: 1 son in infancy.

NUMBER OF GRANDCHILDREN: 5 GREAT -GRANDCHILDREN: 3.

SUVIVING BROTHERS/SISTERS: 1 sister-Kathi Bruhlmann-Mock in Switzerland.

DECEASED BROTHERS/SISTERS: 12 brothers & sisters.

DECEASED FATHER: Burkhard Mock DECEASED MOTHER: Katherina Eggenberger.

OTHER INFORMATION: Further survived by nieces/nephews and many friends
