Warner, Martin Peter (August 15, 1924 - March 22, 2011)
Martin Peter Warner, 86, Gilman, died on Tuesday, March 22 at Gilman Care Center.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28 at Gilman Funeral Home, with Rev. Brahm Semmler-Smith officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Martin Warner was born on August 15, 1924 in Jump River to the late Martin and
Clara (Henry) Warner. He attended Jump River area schools, then moved to the
Dakotas.
On May 1, 1954 in Ipswich, S.D., he married Avis Sargent, who preceded him in
death in 2003.
He worked at John Deere Implement in Lemon for many years. They lived in Oakes, N.D., until 2006 when they moved back to Gilman. He entered the Gilman Care Center in 2008.
Survivors include two sisters, Lila (Ervin) Place of Exland and Lillian Rimert
of Apache Junction, Ariz.; four brothers, Kenneth of Chippewa Falls, Norris of
Ladysmith, Alvin of Whitehall and Gerald (Judy) of Gilman; a step-daughter,
Phoebe (Rex) Fergerson of Oakes; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers,
Carl, Harold and Peter, and a step-son, Dick Potter.
