Millikin, Shannon Jo (Denning) (April 21, 1975 - April 30, 2011)
Shannon Jo (Denning) Millikin, 36, of Chippewa Falls, died on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at her home.
She was born on April 21, 1975 in San Diego, Calif., to Barbara (Bloczynski) and
Wayne Denning.
They moved from California to Nebraska when Shannon was seven years old. She attended grade school and junior high in Nebraska where she made many lifelong friends.
The family moved to Chippewa Falls in 1987 and Shannon graduated from Chi-Hi
in 1993.
Shannon married James Millikin III on July 13, 1994 at Our Hope Lutheran Church
in Chippewa Falls.
She continued her education at UW-Eau Claire in nursing. She worked as a
registered nurse at Luther Hospital, at Sacred Heart Hospital in the emergency
room, and as a traveling nurse, mostly in the eastern states.
Shannon loved to travel, go to the movies, scrapbook and was an avid Denver
Broncos fan. She lived her life for her family and her children meant everything
to her. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Jim, and two sons, Avery and Ashtyn, all of
Chippewa Falls; mother, Barbara (Jim Haugen) Denning of Chippewa Falls; father,
Wayne (Kari) Denning of Eau Claire; brother, Shayne (Sheena) Denning of Chippewa
Falls; paternal grandmother, Lorraine Denning of Chippewa Falls; mother-in-law,
Constance (Wayne) Wagner of Withee; father-in-law, James Millikin Jr. of
Medford; a step-sister, Tarin (Paul) Gilliland of Eau Claire; her dog, Mila; and
many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Eleanor and Richard
Bloczynski; paternal grandfather, Gerald Denning; and aunt, Gerrilynn Majores.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, at Central Lutheran
Church in Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Rick Hoyme officiating
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at Central
Lutheran Church, 28 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
