Ogorzalek, Ellen Ione (Taylor) (December 1, 1932 - June 15, 2011)

 

Ellen Ione Ogorzalek, 78, Lublin, died on Wednesday, June 15 at Gilman Care Center in Gilman.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 20 at the Thorp Funeral Home, with Rev. Marion Talaga officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Cemetery in Lublin.


The former Ellen Taylor was born on December 1, 1932 in the Town of Aurora to the late Frank and Hazel (McCartney) Taylor. She attended area schools.


On April 26, 1949 in Thorp, she married John V. Ogorzalek, who survives. They farmed in rural Lublin for over 30 years until retiring in 1980 and building their home in the Town of Ford. She entered Gilman Care Center in November 2010.


She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, visiting friends and especially being with her grandchildren.


In addition to her husband, survivors include five children, Roger, Joseph (Debra) and David, all of Lublin, Jean Ogorzalek of Chicago, Ill., and Russell (Mary) of Medford; two sisters, Zenita Kowalczyk of Altoona and Janet (Elmer) Nelson of Chetek; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters in infancy; a grandson, Jonathan Ogorzalek; a sister, Cora Gozy; and two brothers, Warren and Burdette.
