Sotak, Gary Thomas (October 30, 1950 - June 4, 2011)

 

Gary Thomas Sotak, 60, Glen Flora, son of Anthony and Rita Sotak of Donald, Wis., peacefully passed away on June 4, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, with his family by his side.


Gary was born on October 30, 1950 in Donald. He graduated from Gilman High School in 1969.

He married Nita Kauer in Rib Lake, Wis., on January 29, 1971. He served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business and economics from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1976.


Gary worked at Jeld-Wen (NORCO) for over 30 years. As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed both bow and rifle hunting for deer and bear. He took many fishing trips to Ontario, Canada, and down the Flambeau and Jump River.


Gary is survived by his wife, Nita Sotak of Glen Flora; mother, Rita Sotak of Ladysmith; son, Aaron (Amanda) Sotak of Lake Nebagamon; daughter, Autumn (Brent) Schwarz of Hudson; his two granddaughters, Aubrey Sotak and Jena Schwarz; brother, David (Donna) Sotak of Ladysmith; and sister, Christine (Butch) Alcorn of Encampment, Wyo.


Gary was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Sotak.


A private memorial service was held on Saturday, June 11.


The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
