Krizan, Paul (March 5, 1931 - August 11, 2011)
Paul Krizan, age 80, of Gilman, passed away after a long struggle with leg infections when the Lord took him home on August 11, 2011 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Paul was born on March 5, 1931 at home, the son of the late John and Anna (Stanko) Krizan.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and after his return he was united in marriage on June 8, 1957 to Alice Guggisberg in Redwood County, Minn.
They moved to the Town of Pershing where they farmed and raised their family. Alice passed away at home in 1992 and later Paul married Bernice Poulda on June 29, 1998.
Paul was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheldon, serving as treasurer and church elder, also served on the town board and was a member of the Sheldon American Legion Post 316.
Paul is survived by his wife, Bernice Krizan of Gilman; four sons, David Krizan
of Sheldon, Dean (Mary) Krizan of Gilman, Wayne Krizan of Charleston, S.C. and
Jeff (Cari) Krizan of Bonsall, Calif.; two daughters, Peggy (Jerry) Imbach of
Medford, and Betty (Bruce) Webster of Sparta; step-children, Edgar (Tari) Poulda
of Cadott, Mike (Kim) Poulda of Medford, and Susan Poulda of Gilman; 10
grandchildren, Chad (Caylyn), Ryan (Melissa), David, Bryce, Alison, Tate, Cain,
Deji, Ayla, and Luke; step-grandchildren, Edgar III, Juliana, Elizabeth and
Emily; siblings, Andy (Helen) Krizan of Cornell, Dan (Bev) Krizan of Sheldon,
Tom Krizan of Madison, Mary Mau of Eau Claire, and Nell Randle of Florida; plus
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice in 1992; sisters, Ruth Horak, Sue Pynnonen, and Ann Pynnonen; and brothers, Mike and John Krizan.
Services were held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Sheldon, with Pastor Aric Fenske officiating. Burial was at the Donald Cemetery
with the Sheldon American Legion Post 316 performing military graveside rites.
Plombon Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
