Harder, Shirley Ann (Guettler) (February 5, 1934 - August 17, 2011)
Shirley Ann Harder, 77, Abbotsford, died on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Golden LivingCenter/Continental Manor in Abbotsford, where she had resided the past four years.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin of Altoona assisted the family with arrangements.
The former former Shirley Guettler was born on February 5, 1934 in Chicago,
Ill., to Fred and Ann (Griesman) Guettler. She attended Shurz High School.
On June 26, 1954 in Highland Park, Ill., she married Donald Harder, who preceded
her in death in 1993. They lived in Minneapolis, Minn., then in 1964 moved to
Deerfield, Ill. In 1993, she moved to Lake Forest, Ill., then to Medford in
2003.
She enjoyed traveling, art, especially Asian art, literature, golf and was a
Sumi-e painter.
Survivors include two sons, Scott (Karen) of Chicago and Daniel (Victoria) of
Santa Cruz, Calif.; a daughter, JoAnne (Steven) Vanden Heuvel of Medford; a
brother, Edward (Anne) of Yorkville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Liv and Donny
Harder, Lydia and Jonah Harder, and Kelsey and Alison Vanden Heuvel; nieces and
nephews; and other relatives and friends.
